A Pocketwizard Fix

Ok ok before I post real pics, I had to post this, perhaps it can help you out too as it has helped me.

This past weekend I had my first in-field experience with the Pocketwizards at the Rho Pi Phi formal. Playing with them was a real treat and a real breeze but finding a way to mount it on my camera was another story.

Basically the simplest, cheapest, cleanest and least bulky way I came up with (I’m sure there are ALOT of ways to mount your PW) was to find a screw threading the size of the tripod hole on the bottom of the camera to mount the PW to. Only drawback is that when I put my camera down, it will sit on the PW, but that’s no big deal as the camera is usually hanging off my shoulder anyways.

If you want it, I got each for $0.50 at Ace Hardware. Item 3282-L 1/4 – 20 x1/2 socket head set screws. If only the on/off switch was facing me when tightly screwed in…but I’m sure I can figure out how to screw it in so it can. For now, it’s pretty sweet for its price. Check it out =).

(Pocketwizard suggests not mounting the antenna sideways but whatever man, wireless is wireless whichever way mounted)

Recently I just started watching David Jay’s videos online and I really loved the message to this one and so I’ll post it here for my own future reference and maybe you guys will take something away from it too.
